Soup of Success
Soup Of Success is a job and life skills training program for women who are dealing with difficult life situations, making positive changes and striving toward self-sufficiency. All proceeds from the sale of Soup of Success products are returned back to the program to cover the training wages of participants. The more products that are sold, the more women we can help. Volunteer
We have a wide range of volunteer opportunities! One of the things that we pride ourselves on here at Soup Of Success is our ability to make connections and build relationships both online and in person. We sit down with individuals who have expressed a desire to help, and get to know them, discover what they are passionate about, and then plug them in where they can best and most happily use their gifts. Individuals have come forward and trained in computer skills, provided IT support, taught basic sewing skills, mentored, shared expertise, and provided lab assistance. Groups of individuals (service clubs, church groups, etc.) come during volunteer work times and help the program participants assemble products. We want to provide people with meaningful volunteer jobs that are a “good fit.”
We have positions available that are suitable for individuals at any level of involvement, whether directly with the participants, behind the scenes, and/or out in the community. Direct Training
Networking Interviews - Each of our participants does research on various potential careers. During that phase, they are asked to be able to conduct a short phone interview with someone who is currently working in that same field. If you would be willing to share your insights and answer a few questions, (15-30 minute phone interview) please contact us and we will add you to our pool!
Job Shadowing - After a participant has chosen her field, they are then eligible for a job shadow experience. This has been an invaluable experience for our women in the past. If you would be willing to have someone observe you at work for a half day experience, or know of someone else who would, please contact us.
Volunteer Work Nights – Join us to package soup, cookie, and dip mixes for the SOS program to sell every 3rd Wednesday of each month, 6:30-8:30 PM. These opportunities are open to the public. Contact Amy Brock if interested or if you wish to set up a volunteer work night of your own with a group.

One – On -One Support
Mentoring – Our mentoring component is key to our women’s success! Women helping women and walking alongside them in their journey is powerful and transforming for both women. Training and support is provided to women from the community serving as mentors in one-on-one relationships with SOS women. For more details, visit our Become a Mentor page.
GED Tutor - If a woman enters the Soup Of Success program without a GED or high school diploma, she is required to enter into GED classes. This can be an intimidating feat for some and a little extra help getting through the tough spots can make all the difference. Tutoring can be done anywhere at your mutual convenience.
Graduate Reunion Nights
Childcare – Help the childcare team watch SOS women’s children at monthly reunion nights for 1 1/2 hours on the 1st Thursday of each month. Meet at the fellowship hall of First Congregational Church, 431 South 3rd Street Elkhart, IN 46516. Contact us for scheduling and directions.
Meal Providers – Provide a meal for a monthly reunion night, held on the 1st Thursday of the month. Meet in the fellowship hall of First Congregational Church.
Graduation Cake Baker/Decorator - If you are a semi-professional cake baker/decorator and are interested in providing a full sheet cake for a graduation, we would forever be indebted to you! We have a tradition of taking a class photo with the cake every time we celebrate graduation (6 times/year.) Show off your talents with us!
Business

Carry Our Products in Your Store – Do you own a gift shop or grocery store? Know someone who would be willing to carry Soup Of Success products? Contact Betsy at soupofsuccess@aol.com for wholesale price lists and other information.
Browse & Buy – Schedule your own “Browse & Buy” over the lunch hour to feature SOS products for sale…your place or ours? All we need is a table and some interested people.
Holiday Deliveries – The holidays get hectic around here and we could use some cheerful delivery people to help deliver Gift Baskets! This is a great job as everyone is thrilled to receive one of our gift baskets.
Product Development – If cooking is your passion and tweaking recipes is your thing, give us a call. We would be happy to partner with you on the development of future products!
Product Photography – We would be thrilled to have professional shots of our products to share online or in print materials.
