Kathy began at Soup Of Success as a volunteer teaching creative writing and tutoring women who were studying for their GED.  She came on staff officially in 2003 and now is the lead facilitator for the Getting Ahead Curriculum and does career counseling.  She shares the coordination of the mentoring component with Abbie and works hard at supporting SOS graduates.  Her focus is educating the community on poverty issues and helping people truly understand poverty as a community concern.  She still teaches creative writing and assists women in pursuit of a GED.  Kathy and her husband Steve live in Elkhart along with their two young sons and attend Little Flower Catholic Church.  When not at work, she enjoys being out in nature.
